Is Look For easy to use?
Very! Simply click on the Look For App icon and you will be on your way to professional classroom observations at the touch of your fingertips.
Do I need to attend a class or have special training to learn how to use the Look For App?
Not really, it is very easy to learn, and you can practice by setting up your first “teacher” observsation as yourself or a demo name of your choice.
How does it work?
Simply enter the school, teacher for evaluation, subject, today’s date, and email address of the teacher you are observing. Make sure you enter the information correctly. Click on the start bar and you are on your way. Next you can choose which standard you want to start with. After clicking on a standard, you will be asked to choose which key or element you want to focus in on. The next screen will be sample teaching strategies, or techniques that are associated with the key area or elements. After making your selections, you can choose if you wish to add comments. That is entirely up to you. Finally, click on the email button, and it will be sent to the teacher with a copy to your mailbox.
Can I select as many sample teaching strategies as I want?
Yes. It isn't probable that you will observe all strategies for every area in a single observation. However you can select as many options as you want.
What if I want to make a comment and it isnʼt listed in the sample strategies or techniques?
You can add additional observations that you wish to include to the comments section.
Will it match up to state and federal standards/propositions?
There is a direct correlation to state and national propositions and standards. You can also add information in the comments section if you feel an area needs more attention.
What do teachers say about this program?
Look For is designed to promote and recognize effective instruction. Teachers appreciate quality and timely feedback. The use of this program helps create an environment that supports collegial conversations between the observer and the teacher being observed. Look For is viewed as having a very positive impact on improving student performance and improving teachers quality of instruction.
When I return to the same classroom, how do I find that teacherʼs prior observations?
Simply click on the classroom search button on the bottom of the screen. Then look for the teacher, school, or subject to refine your search.
Does it always send past classroom observations with the current one for a selected teacher?
Yes, that way a teacher is reminded of how many times you have been in their classroom for an observation.
The teacher did not receive a copy of the report.. What went wrong?
The data (email address) could be entered incorrectly. Your district is blocking delivery via a spam filter. Sometimes all messages with “do not reply to this message” are blocked. Since it will always be sent by “no reply @ LookForApp.com” it can easily be allowed by your schoolʼs tech support.
Is there a delete button for name, school, or subject?
No, we didn't add a delete button on the app. We were concerned with the possible deletion of data and complication with potential retrieval. If this happens, simply ignore the listing and start another entry.
